A few months before the world shut down, I was approached by Webedia Books to design a new kind of beauty book. A book that would follow you season after season and provide beauty knowledge, tips and tricks to look and feel better.

Charlotte Daubet and Sarina Lavagne Dโ€™Ortigue, the two co-authors, wanted something that was educational, playful and feel-good. Something you could write on but also display on your coffee table.

From a graphic design point of view, it called for all the skills I could summon. With so many different formats (think about recipes, DIYโ€™s, articles, interviews, quizzes, quotes, and tutorials) and so much information, it was a challenge and, also, what graphic designersโ€™ dreams are made of. I loved having to rack my brain to try and fit all the information in each spread without losing in readability and aesthetics. I also loved working with the team at Webedia who showed a lot of trust during the whole process. Especially since we had to work remotely for the most part (the book was designed between December 2019 and July 2020 - during a global pandemic and two lockdowns).

Cover proposals

As you can imagine, the cover alone had to go through a process of validation and feedback rounds. Once again, the process went pretty smoothly since, it seems, we were all on the same page (pun slightly intended). We quickly landed on a version and the rest was mostly a question of adjusting to the printing specs.

Project Scope

As a designer, it is sometimes hard to accurately demonstrate the entire scope of the work I do. Thereโ€™s the visual part but also a lot of behind-the-scenes. To try to be as precise as possible, I added a detailed breakdown of the work I have done on each project at the bottom of each page.
